Friends of B.C.’s Ancient Forest

The Caledonia Ramblers – a dedicated group of conservation minded volunteers – have made it easier and safer to experience the natural wonders of B.C.’s Ancient Forest. Located near Prince George and regarded as one of the province’s rarest and hidden treasures, the unique temperate rainforest is made up of enormous ancient cedar trees and includes mountain viewpoints, a beautiful waterfall and diverse wildlife.

The Ramblers created the Ancient Forest Interpretative Trail, featuring a universally accessible boardwalk, which gives everyone – including visitors in wheelchairs or with other mobility challenges – an opportunity to enjoy the area. With funding from TD FEF, they built a raised plank pathway 4,755 feet long and constructed steps in various areas.
